Notre Dame will kick off against Navy in prime time on Nov. 1 at the home of the Washington Redskins.

CBS announced Thursday this year's Notre Dame-Navy game will begin at 8 p.m. ET at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., giving the Irish a third prime time kickoff this coming season. Kickoff times for road games at Syracuse (at MetLife Stadium), Florida State, Arizona State and USC have yet to be announced.

The Nov. 1 game is believed to be the first time Navy will have a game televised in prime time on an over-the-air network (i.e. NBC, ABC, CBS), and it's also believed to be the first night game in the 87-game history of the Notre Dame-Navy rivalry.

With CBS televising the Florida-Georgia game at 3:30 ET on Nov. 1, the only available slots for Notre Dame-Navy would've been noon or 8 p.m. Given Notre Dame's national brand and its slew of prime time road games over the years, it's not too surprising the Navy game will kick off at 8 p.m.
