After months of working to shoehorn ACC teams into already-crowded slate, Notre Dame released its 2014-2016 schedules on Friday.

The Irish are under contract to play five ACC opponents per season beginning in 2014, though due to prior commitments only four are on the schedule. Notre Dame, as expected, will keep rivalry games against Navy, Stanford and USC while dropping Michigan and Purdue after 2014.

The 2014 schedule features three games at NFL stadiums -- Sept. 13 vs. Purdue at Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis Colts), Sept. 27 vs. Syracuse at MetLife Stadium (New York Jets/Giants) and Nov. 1 vs. Navy at FedEx Field (Washington Redskins).

Notre Dame's first ACC game will be against North Carolina on Oct. 11, a warm-up for a matchup with Jameis Winston and Florida State the next week in Tallahassee.

The Irish will open the 2015 and 2016 seasons against Texas, with the 2015 game in South Bend and the 2016 game in Austin. Notre Dame and Texas are scheduled for another back-to-back home-and-home in 2019 and 2020.

Lifelong Red Sox fan Brian Kelly will get to coach a game at Fenway Park in 2015, where Notre Dame will face Boston College. It'll be the third time in Kelly's tenure he'll have coached a game at a baseball stadium, with the other two times at Yankee Stadium (2010 vs. Army, Dec. 28 vs. Rutgers).
