Notre Dame's Jaylon Smith named AP All-American

Notre Dame junior linebacker Jaylon Smith was named an AP All-American on Sunday after finishing the regular season with 113 tackles. 

Smith joined Alabama's Reggie Ragland and Temple's Tyler Matakevich on the AP All-American first team. The Fort Wayne, Ind. native was named a first-team All-American by Sports Illustrated and won the Butkus Award last week.

Smith joined Manti Te'o as the only players to win both the high school and college Butkus Awards.

Notre Dame redshirt junior left tackle Ronnie Stanley was named a second-team AP All-American, with Ohio State's Taylor Decker and Baylor's Spencer Drango earning first-team honors. Junior wide receiver Will Fuller was also named a second-team AP All-American, as Baylor's Corey Coleman and TCU's Josh Doctson were named to the first team. 

Senior defensive tackle Sheldon Day was also named a second-team All-American American.
