Part-time Video Editor, Digital

The CSNChicago.com part-time video editor is responsible for editing and producing digital content for multiple platforms. This role will help program video to drive traffic, VOD, fulfill sponsorships and help grow the digital business.


  • Edit daily video content for distribution on CSN Chicago platforms.
  • Assist in digital video production and execution for cross-platform distribution
  • Edit and produce original in-house programming to help drive the digital business growth; original programming includes short-form content, series, etc.   
  • Edit and shoot original content and collaborate with Multimedia Producer, Sr. Manager, Content and rest of team.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with TV newsroom to develop in-house and remote original content
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Punctual, regular and consistent attendance


  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in digital media, preferably a sports network
  • Ability to produce, shoot and edit
  • Experience in working in a digital newsroom and original content studio
  • Must have vast knowledge of Avid and/or Final Cut Pro and/or related applications
  • Ability to create high quality, real-time graphics via Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with converting and compressing media for web; experience in web publishing and HMTL
  • Strong editorial decision maker; ability to know what makes valuable content and what drives traffic (audience) for all CSN Chicago digital platforms
  • Knowledge base of Chicago and national sports with creativity and eye-for-detail to select interesting/compelling sound bites
  • Possess strong understanding of live streaming production and TV Everywhere
  • Ability to work under tight time restrictions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Self starter with demonstrated initiative
  • Must be detailed oriented with strong organization skills
  • Handles multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment
  • Teamwork - can work independently and in a small group
  • Bachelor of Arts in communications, media, computer programming or related fields (or equivalent experience)

Part-time Master Control Operator


  • Integration of live games, live studio shows, and recorded programming with commercial breaks, score tickers, etc.
  • Record incoming programs from various sources and prepare for air
  • Communicate and coordinate commercial break schedule and timing with various producers of live programming
  • Commercial ingest onto video server from various sources
  • Preparation of program logs for use on automation
  • Capability to understand and perform all aspects and duties of a Master Control Operator
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • Experience in Master Control required
  • Candidates must be able to non-traditional hours including working nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Strong Computer skills required
  • Familiarity with Master Control Automation systems
  • Understanding of Satellite tuning and downlinks and fiber optic transmissions
  • Functional knowledge of video server and videotape operation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required

Part-Time Engineer

Comcast SportsNet Chicago is looking for a part-time engineer to serve as primary weekend support for engineering operations and to work as needed to cover both morning or evening shifts for full time engineers. This position will perform equipment and facility maintenance to ensure clear transmissions for “On Air” productions. The engineer will monitor broadcast operations, assist with inventory control, and perform other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.

Candidates must have a minimum of one year related technical experience. Candidates for this position must have excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to demanding technical environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, good eye hand coordination and be able to apply knowledge based on electronic principles while troubleshooting.

Candidates must be able to work weekends, and flexible workweek.
