Conant senior Jimmy Sotos picks Bucknell

Conant senior guard Jimmy Sotos made his college decision on Monday night as he announced on Twitter that he committed to Bucknell.

The 6-foot-2 Sotos helped the Cougars win the Fremd Sectional title in Class 4A last season before falling to Rockford Auburn in the Class 4A supersectional at the Sears Centre. During his junior season, Sotos averaged 16 points and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 47 percent from the field and 84 percent from the free-throw line.

"It was the best balance for academics and basketball," Sotos said of Bucknell. "I'm excited to be able to make an impact from Day 1 on a winning program that each year has a great chance to get to the NCAA tournament. Also, I developed a great relationship with the coaching staff, as they believe in me as a player and believe in my goals to play ball after college."

With the return of Sotos and junior center Ryan Davis, Conant should be a major factor in the area this season as they'll likely find their way into the @CSNPreps Power Rankings to start the season.
