CSNChicago.com preps reporter "Edgy" Tim O’Halloran spotlights 100 high school football teams in 100 days. The first 75 team profiles focus on teams making strides across Chicagoland and elsewhere in the state. Starting Aug. 1, we’ll unveil the @CSNPreps Top 25 Power Rankings, leading up to kickoff on Friday, Aug. 26. View Edgy Tim's other football previews here.

School: Lincoln-Way East

Head coach: Rob Zvonar

How they fared in 2015: 8-3 (6-1) Southwest Suburban Blue Conference. Lincoln-Way East made the 2015 Class 7A state playoff field. The Griffins defeated Jacobs, then lost to Libertyville in the second round of Class 7A playoffs.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the newly merged Lincoln-Way East program come together as one?

Names to watch this season: Defensive end Devin O'Rourke and offensive lineman Sam Diehl

Biggest holes to fill: Can the Griffins reload at a few key spots including quarterback?

EDGY's Early Take: With the closing of Lincoln-Way North, Lincoln-Way East now is touting a varsity roster of nearly 120 kids. Yet it's much more than just overall numbers for the Griffins, who now have talent and tons of depth for the 2016 season. If this Lincoln-Way East team can come together and avoid the various issues and distractions in and around the high school district these days, this program could win a state title.
