No. 1 Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings

2014 record: 11-3 (6-1) finished second in the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference. Homewood-Flossmoor beat Neuqua Valley, Edwardsville, Bolingbrook and Simeon before losing to Stevenson in the Class 8A state title game.

Why did the Vikings make the @CSNPreps Power Rankings? The Vikings return 16 starters (nine on offense, seven on defense) from last season's team.

Areas of concern heading into the 2015 season? Can the Vikings live up to the preseason hype? Can H-F reload on the defensive line?

It will be a good season if: The Vikings are hoisting the 8A state title trophy at Huskie Stadium in late November.

Headliners? Senior quarterback Bryce Gray, senior twin running backs Devonte Harley-Hamption and Deante Harley-Hampton, senior guard Desmond Bland and senior wide receiver Kendric Pryor.

Biggest game of 2015? Oct. 9 vs. Lincoln-Way East. There's no love lost between the Vikings and Griffins.

Did you know? Head coach Craig Buzea, who is entering his sixth season with the Vikings, has an overall record of 164-78 in his 21 years as a head coach. Buzea coached in Indiana at Michigan City and Portage.
