No. 2 Mount Carmel Caravan

2014 record: 8-5 (1-3) finished tied for fourth in the Chicago Catholic League Blue Conference. Mount Carmel beat Batavia, Belleville West and Lincoln-Way East before losing to Providence Catholic in the Class 7A semifinals.

Why did the Caravan make the @CSNPreps Power Rankings? Mount Carmel brings back a ton of experience from a team that gained serious momentum in the second half of the 2014 season.

Areas of concern heading into the 2015 season? Can the Caravan reload on the defensive line, and can they survive the rugged CCL Blue schedule.

It will be a good season if: Mount Carmel can keep opposing team's defenses on the field for extended periods of time.

Headliners? Senior quarterback Anthony Thompson (NIU) and senior defensive tackle Terrell Greer are just a handful of names to watch.

Biggest game of 2015? Sept. 11 vs. Providence Catholic. Expect a packed house at Gately Stadium for this early CCL Blue showdown.

Did you know? One of the top recruits in the Class of 2018 is Mount Carmel sophomore defensive back Houston Griffith, the son of former Illinois fullback and current Big Ten Network analyst Howard Griffith.
