Lemont's new head football coach won't have to travel very far for his latest assignment.

"I live 15 minutes from Lemont High School," said new Indians head coach Bret Kooi.

Kooi, who led nearby Lockport from 1994 to 2010, as well as to back-to-back Class 8A state titles in 2002 and 2003, wasn't going to jump at any open job unless it was the right situation.

"Lemont was just an awesome opportunity. I really thought hard about it and then my wife agreed that this was the perfect fit for me. Lemont has had great success over the years and they also have great support."

Last night, Warren also tabbed Lake Forest College assistant coach Bryan McNulty to lead the Blue Devils football program in 2014. McNulty will replace Dave Mohapp, who retired from his coaching position last fall. McNulty, who coached defensive backs the past two seasons at Lake Forest College is also the current Warren softball coach.

Look for several more new hirings to be made over the next few weeks.
