Jalen Brunson had himself quite the two-day stretch in Peoria.

The junior point guard was named the 2013-14 Gatorade Illinois Boys Basketball Player of the Year on Thursday, and one day later dropped a record-setting 56 points in Stevenson's 75-68 loss to Whitney Young. But Brunson made headlines after the game more for an apparent middle-fingered gesture made in frustration, prompting an investigation by the IHSA Board about whether he should be suspended for Saturday's third-place game.

Brunson ultimately was allowed to play after the Board found insubstantial evidence, and scored 18 points in the Patriots' 70-63 win over Edwardsville.

After that game, Brunson spoke with CSNChicago.com's Scott Phillips to discuss his event-filled two-day stretch.

See what he had to say in the video above.
