Alex Smith is excited for Mitch Trubisky's potential under Matt Nagy

Alex Smith is living proof of Matt Nagy's impact as a Quarterback Whisperer.

The veteran quarterback spent the last five seasons working under Nagy with the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed the best years of his career, making the Pro Bowl three times and throwing 102 touchdowns to 33 interceptions:

Compare that to the first seven years of Smith's career, when he threw only 81 touchdowns to 63 interceptions with a 79.1 passer rating and a 38-36-1 record.

Smith recently spoke to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune about Nagy's impact on him over the last few years and is all aboard the Mitch Trubisky Breakout Train:

"I watched (the Bears) a couple times this year and felt almost all of (Trubisky’s) pass attempts came on third down, and that’s a hard way to play because I have been there too as a young player. He didn’t have the breather completions and throws to get himself into a rhythm, and I think Matt will do a great job just building it around him, tailoring it to his strengths, putting pieces around him that will help him.”

As a rookie, Trubisky attempted only 27.5 passes per game, averaging 182.8 passing yards per game in his 12 starts.
