Dewayne Wise pitches, gets Konerko and Rios out

Dewayne Wise has done plenty in his career to ingratiate himself among White Sox fans. His perfect game-saving catch in 2009 is immortalized on the outfield wall at U.S. Cellular Field, and he hit big home runs against Detroit and Tampa Bay in 2008, the latter of which came during the White Sox last playoff appearance.

Wise did something else pretty cool involving the White Sox on Friday, although he did it with the Yankees.

With the White Sox leading 14-7 in the ninth, Wise came on to pitch for New York. He faced two batters -- Paul Konerko and the white-hot Alex Rios -- and retired them both.

And fans took to twitter to point out a few things about Wise's outing:
