NBC announced Wednesday that Doug Flutie will take over as the network’s full-time lead Notre Dame analysts for its broadcasts of Irish home games this coming fall.

Flute replaces Mike Mayock, who last November was moved to sideline duty while Flutie was bumped to an analyst role alongside play-by-play man Dan Hicks. Mayock will not be a part of Notre Dame broadcasts this fall. Hicks, along with sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen, return to NBC’s Notre Dame coverage.

NBC will televise all six of Notre Dame’s home games, and NBC Sports Network will carry Nov. 21’s Shamrock Series game against Boston College at Fenway Park. It’ll be Notre Dame’s first appearance on NBCSN.

Comcast SportsNet-Chicago will air same-day replays of all six of Notre Dame’s home games as well as the Shamrock Series, beginning Sept. 5 with Notre Dame’s season opener against Texas.
