John McDonough: Blackhawks are ‘built for the playoffs'

The Blackhawks are playing in the Stanley Cup Final for the third time in six years — and have reached the Conference Final in five of the last seven seasons — in spite of going through roller coaster regular seasons.

But John McDonough knows anything can happen in the playoffs if you get in, and having that mentality is a big reason the Blackhawks have been so successful.

"Certainly, you would love to win the President's Trophy," the Blackhawks President & CEO told Comcast SportsNet before Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday. "But for these guys, we knew that when the clock struck midnight on April 15, we would be ready to go. This is a team that's built for the playoffs."
