U-High senior Jameel Alausa commits to Yale

U-High senior forward Jameel Alausa has figured out his basketball future as he committed to Yale on Wednesday afternoon.

An active 6-foot-7 forward who can defend multiple spots on the floor, Alausa will be one of the city's best defenders and rebounders this season as he's hoping to help the Maroons to another regional title. U-High has won regional titles in three of the last four seasons as Alausa should compete for a spot on the CSN Preps All-Area team at the end of the season as he's a constant double-double threat.

Yale is coming off of back-to-back Ivy League regular season champions and a NCAA tournament appearance in 2016 in which the No. 12 seeded Bulldogs upset Baylor in the first round. Head coach James Jones has been with the program 17 years and the Ivy League is turning into one of the best mid-major basketball leagues in the country.

Alausa joins a five-man class at Yale that includes point guard Azar Swain, shooting guard Jalen Gabbidon and forwards Wyatt Yess and Paul Atkinson.
