The United States Men's Basketball team extended its international win streak to 71 games after defeating Australia 98-88 on Wednesday in the Rio Olympic Competitions.
A win didn't come easy for team USA, as the squad trailed at halftime — for the first time since a 2004 match — by a score of 54-49.
The Americans were led by Carmelo Anthony, who dropped an impressive 31 points to go along with eight rebounds.
Australia put up a good fight up until the closing minutes. San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills is responsible for much of team Australia's success, as he — like Anthony — also netted 30 points.

Bulls star Jimmy Butler was not much of a factor in the win for team USA. Butler managed just one rebound on the night while failing to score any points (on 0-3 shooting).
Nevertheless, the United States Men's Basketball team continued its impressive run under National team and Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski.
