Cliff Alexander, F, Kansas

6'9" | 239 lbs. | 19 years old

2014-15 stats:

7.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 56.6 field-goal percentage

Projection:

Late first round/early second round

Quotable:

“I had an up-and-down season, I didn't live up to my expectations. Started out the season, wasn't starting, played 10 minutes here, 18 minutes here. And then that situation went down, so it was just a bad deck of cards. ... I'm not that type of guy. I'm a great guy, great personality, sense of humor, great guy to be around. When I was at Kansas, it was just a struggle. I just got dealt a bad deck of cards, that's all that was."

Fit for the Bulls:

Once considered one of this draft's top prospects, Chicago-native Alexander struggled during his lone season in college. At Kansas, he didn't start many games and didn't log a lot of minutes either. His production wasn't very high, and a situation involving his mother resulted in him being ruled ineligible and prematurely ending his tenure in Lawrence after only 28 games. All that has caused his draft stock to plummet. Not a year after being one of the nation's top recruits, he's no longer a top-10 pick and might not be a first-round pick at all. That being said, he's still the same guy who a year ago was considered one of the most exciting players heading into college basketball. The Curie product is still a big body and an athletic post presence. The Bulls are pretty well set when it comes to big men, what with Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol, Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic dominating the minutes there. Plus, Fred Hoiberg was brought in to improve the offense, something Alexander doesn't exactly excel at. But, if he manages to drop all the way to the Bulls' second-round pick, he could be viewed as a low-risk, high-reward type selection.
