What scouts are saying:

"Prewitt is a four-year starter who has been a dependable and productive member of an improving unit at Ole Miss. His size screams "box safety" but his play demeanor doesn't. He lacks the athleticism and plus instincts to be a chance-taker at the next level and will likely have to fit with teams as a single-high and Cover 2 safety." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

"Attacks the line of scrimmage like a charging bull with proper break down technique in space. Sound tackler with a proper strike zone and technique. Will de-cleat ballcarriers with timing and physicality to jar the ball loose (five career forced fumbles). Nose for the ball with opportunistic ballskills to track and attack (12 career interceptions). Emotional leader and not afraid to get into the face of his teammates to praise or coach up. Productive starting experience (41 career starts) as a two-time First Team All-SEC member and 2013 All-American." - Dane Brugler, CBSSports.com

Fit for the Bears:

The Bears have already added some competition to the defensive back position via free agency, but they could certainly use more from young, talented players in the NFL Draft. Cody Prewitt played was a four-year starter at Ole Miss, where its defense ranked No. 1 in the country last season. Not bad for a player projected to be taken in the fourth round. While he may not be the most athletic, Prewitt's experience against top competition could make him a mid-round steal.
