Adam Dunn will resume wearing No. 44 this season.
The White Sox slugger, who reports to spring training on Thursday, switched back to his old number after wearing No. 32 in his first three seasons on the South Side.
Dunn wore 44 first with the Cincinnati Reds from 2001 to 2008. He first switched to 32 when he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2008 because Micah Owings had already claimed 44.
Dunn, who is in the final season of a four-year deal with the White Sox, switched back to 44 when he signed with the Washington Nationals for two years in 2009. But he had to revert back to 32 again when he came to the White Sox because Jake Peavy, who was traded to Boston last July, wore No. 44.
