White Sox deal Tekotte to D-Backs, promote Mitchell to AAA

The White Sox dealt outfielder Blake Tekotte to Arizona for cash considerations and promoted former first-round pick Jared Mitchell to Triple-A on Saturday.

Tekotte hit .251/.324/.438 in 81 games with Triple-A Charlotte this year. The Columbia, Mo., native was traded to the White Sox in November 2012 for minor league pitcher Brandon Kloess and appeared in 20 games for the White Sox in 2013.

Mitchell, the White Sox first-round pick in 2009, struggled in his first go-around with Charlotte this year. Playing his third season in Triple-A, Mitchell hit .199 with 78 strikeouts in 53 games before a demotion to Double-A, where he hit .299/.367/.561 for Birmingham.
