White Sox Road Ahead: Could changes be coming soon?

CSN's Chuck Garfien and Bill Melton discuss the tough schedule looming for the White Sox and whether changes are coming in this week's Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland & NW Indiana Honda Dealers.

The White Sox finally snapped their eight-game losing streak following a 3-2 win over the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon, but the road only gets tougher from here.

The South Siders are looking to climb out of the American League Central basement, and will have to do so with a nine-game road stint beginning on Monday against a pair of tough division rivals — Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers.

And if Robin Ventura's club doesn't turn things around within the next few weeks before the MLB All-Star break, it may determine whether the White Sox will become buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.

"I'm not really sure you need the All-Star break to make those changes," Melton said. "I think they've been working on this already, trying to figure out which way they want to go. Whether this trip goes really well or really bad, I think — just guessing — they might have it already set in their mind what they'll have to do with this scenario and if it's on this side of the ledger, which is the good side, they might do something completely different.

"But they do have a plan. They always have a plan. All they have to do is figure out when they want to execute it."
