The White Sox head into their annual showdown with the crosstown-rival Cubs, and Chuck Garfien, Bill Melton and Frank Thomas are getting you ready with this week's White Sox Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland and NW Indiana Honda Dealers.
Can the White Sox continue to turn things around?
Losers of four straight heading into Sunday's series-finale in Cleveland, the Sox finally got back in the win column with a dramatic win over the Indians. Dayan Viciedo's ninth-inning home run proved to be the game-winner, and it was some positive news for a team recently plagued by injuries.
So now comes the Crosstown series, four straight games in two different ballparks with the Cubs, who recently picked up some positive momentum of their own, stringing some wins together.
What's the outlook for this week's games?
"This year we come in to face the Cubs, we're not hitting the ball at all offensively like we were about a week ago," Melton said. "If we were, I'd see no problem. But when you've got Samardzija on the mound, you've got Quintana for the White Sox, two clubs that are struggling for runs. Let's not fool ourselves, we're not scoring a lot of runs. It'll be a good series because both teams right now are pretty much equal."
