CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2015 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on Aug. 28.

No. 14 Montini Catholic Broncos

2014 record: 10-4 (3-1) finished second in the Chicago Catholic League Green Conference. The Broncos defeated DuSable, Joliet Catholic, Marian Central Catholic and Geneseo before losing to Sacred Heart-Griffin in the Class 5A state title game.

Why did the Broncos make the @CSNPreps Power Rankings? The Broncos have become one of the top power football programs in Illinois. Montini Catholic, again, brings a very talented team to the field this fall.

Areas of concern heading into the 2015 season? Can the Broncos reload on both the offensive and defensive lines?

It will be a good season if: The Broncos offense hits its usual high level of production and the defense develops its line play sooner rather than later.

Headliners? Senior wide receiver Tyler Millikan, junior running back Prince Walker and senior quarterback/athlete Justin Blake lead the offense, while senior lineman Joe Spivak, senior linebacker John Embrey and junior defensive back Mitch West lead the defense in 2015.

Biggest game of 2015? Oct. 23 at Marmion Academy. Let's face it. When your two non-conference opponents are Maine South and East St. Louis, every game counts for the Broncos. However, if this team slips early, a Week 9 showdown at Marmion Academy could have serious playoff implications.

Did you know? If Montini Catholic makes the IHSA state playoffs this season they will play in Class 6A. The Broncos, along with Class 5A rival Sacred Heart-Griffin, will be "moved up" a class, compliments of the new IHSA Success Factor rule.
